Red wines come from the juice, skins, and pips of red and black grapes. They are stronger in taste than white wines. People generally prefer them with full meals and with red meat – although this isn't a rule. The usual glass takes the shape of a bowl and widens at the top. Serve red wines, they say, at room temperature.

Spy Valley Marlborough Merlot - 27.95
This wine exhibits rich aromas of chocolate and liquorice with hints of cassis and cedar. The mid palate has berry fruit weight and sweetness. The back palate is round and long with suave fruit tannins rounding out the finish.
Peregrine Pinot Noir - 43.95
Traditional winemaking techniques were used to produce this Pinot Noir enabling gentle tannin extraction and creating a foundation of flavours and textures that underwent further integration as they matured in a mixture of French oak barrels for 10 months. This has resulted in a wine that shows characters of ripe black cherries, dried spice and rich velvet tannins along with a lingering silky finish. It is made in a style that complements food perfectly. This Pinot Noir shows the hallmarks for aging gracefully while also being enjoyed during its youth.
