Interflora recently joined the Global Interflora Committee and under this leadership, we are committed to a better world. Some initiatives include
- Decreasing the environmental impact of our operations. IPU are committed to our own operations and encouraging our local florists to follow the same path. These include sourcing bouquet wrapping on Kraft paper, non-whitened and printed in water-based or soy ink), compostable cello, and cotton ribbons only.
- Promoting responsible sourcing. We promote the responsible purchase of eco- friendly flowers, grown in a responsible and sustainable way. Including locally produced greeting cards using recycled paper, FSC certified and water-based or biological inks. Localled sourced flowers from local growers reducing the flower milage.
- Education – Introducing an education and incentives programme to push the florist network to use more sustainable materials and comply with our standards. They need to understand that they are selling products to our customers, and they act as ambassadors of the brand.
Supporting and enriching our community
Education & Community – Education and sharing of information are essential tools for our florists. Interflora, has been working with the New Zealand Professional Florists to support the student community and wider florist community outside the co-op. Collaborating with the NZPF has given our members the opportunity to join the membership and attend professional workshops. This relationship has also been effective at seeing students wishing to learn more which is encouraging to the industry. Interflora has also introduced more regionalised events and workshops throughout the country to showcase the passion and insight of our members to help upskill trainee florists, share tips and trends, connect with our customers and industry and increase our brand reputation for new and established business alike.

Interflora New Zealand has been creating bouquets for almost seventy years. Each one is hand-crafted to order. Every hand-tied bouquet, vase arrangement, gift bag, or floral posy features gorgeous blooms carefully arranged with balance, texture and colour in mind. Each is beautifully wrapped or packaged to create a truly one-of-a-kind gift created by a local artisan florist, for any occasion.
