WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND YOUR SHOP?
I've been in the florist industry for 20 years. I went to a florist for work experience when I was 16 and never looked back! After a year of experience, I left school at 17 to work full-time there. After 7 years of experience and a bit of moving around, I ended up here at The Greenhouse. 2 years ago I took over ownership! As of now, I've been here for 9 years. It's been quite a journey and has been fantastic to work with different florists and learning new styles. I just love it, I love my job and I couldn't imagine doing anything else! I loved art at high school so I think the creative side of floristry just came naturally to me.
WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE OWNING THE GREENHOUSE?
I have owned The Greenhouse coming up to 3 years now. It's the best decision I've ever made. Having worked for the previous owner of The Greenhouse for nearly 10 years, it just made sense to take over ownership. I was at the right stage in my life, my children were at a good age and I had the support of my parents, my partner, and my in-laws. It really was the best decision for me.
I turned the shop into how I imagined it could look, putting my own spin on it. It's also been great to have my co-worker Ella by my side. She's my ride or die, I couldn't run it without her. We're the best of friends so it's just so much fun!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING AN INTERFLORA MEMBER?
Interflora is pretty cool to be a part of and of course it's good to get more orders in on top of our own, so that's a bonus! Everyone is so nice, after meeting the team it changed our perspective on what we thought Interflora was. I'm really chuffed to be a member.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE INTERFLORA PRODUCT TO MAKE?
I think my favourite bouquet to create is the Mauve Bouquet.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FLOWER SEASON AND WHY?
My fave seasons would have to be spring, just can't get enough of the spring blooms! But I do love Summer too with the peony's and Christmas lilies, I don't know I love them all!
